LOVE Friday...

Finally it's that Friday feeling (Rebbeca Black style paha) but whats with this weather? Hello Mr weatherman what happened to the sun today? It's June tomorrow and we are fed up with wearing coats. 

Despite the short week we've been buzzing around like busy bee's as per and have been ridiculously crushing on Cara Delevinge but who hasn't? Showcase: Bloggers spotted in MINKPINK

We're always keeping an eye out for new style inspiration at CAGECITY and bloggers are one of our go-to for styling tips and tricks. 

This week we've focused on bloggers who we've spotted in MINKPINK (sold on CAGECITY!) and wanted to share our selection of savvy internet beauties. 

First up is 19 y/o student Natalie Liao based in sunny Los Angeles, who we have a major style crush on! A girl after our own hearts, she lists food and travel among her interests and her blog is a mix of impeccable selfless, style tips, mood boards, and inspirational quotes.

Our next hot pick is Ashley Madekwe who is also based in LA but originally a London girl. She likes to mix high street with designer pieces and, my god, does she have a cracking shoe collection - She reckons she's got more shoes than sense but we know this girl has her head screwed on! Our favourite thing about Ashley's style is that its wearable and still statement with the addition of statement accessories.

Last but not least is Jen Humphrey, whose fashion posts are flanked by her favourite lyrics, and whose individual style and bangin' bod have, im sure, inspired plenty to re-evalute their lifestyle choices..... well me anyway lol. The model, music lover and all-round-sweetie is not too far different from us though - she shares our interest in vintage shopping, gigs, make-up, tea and coffee and a good old girls night out!

A little Q&A with Vikki: 

 

How would you describe your style? 

 

Comfy and casual, I have an out of control obsession with vintage and I LOVE a good charity shop find. You will usually find me roaming around in an oversized shirt, a pair of ‘Mum Jeans’, a leather jacket and some grungy platform boots. 

What drew you to CAGECITY? 

 

The amazing clothes, I really like how there is a great mix of handmade, designer and vintage clothes. Obviously with me being a vintage obsessive I was drawn to this section of the website. There are some fabulous pieces at amazing prices meaning there is something for everyone. 

Who are your style inspirations? 

 

My Nan has got to be one of my biggest style icons, the majority of my wardrobe is from hers (Nanna Hirst knows how to rock an outfit) I also follow a lot of street style blogs I particularly love Marni Bennets ‘Tribal Bible’ you can check it out at http://tribalbible.net/

We Just Love Cara Delevingne

Ok we have a serious girl crush on Cara Delevingne but lets be honest who doesn't! The whole world seems to of gone a bit Cara crazy! We love her laid back style, everything she wears looks effortlessly put together which is what we love here at CAGECITY! 

We love that even when she's surrounded by fashion royalty she doesn't take her style too seriously, fashion is all about having fun after all! :)

Yesss Yesss! What's up beautiful people? It's Friday.. and that makes me feel good! Yessirrr!

We've had a great week (as usual) ;) here at CAGECITY... and as always there's been a lot of love... so what have we been lovin' this week...

Retro Jackets..we always love them! Brighten up any outfit takin' it back to the 80's and CAGECITY have got some bangers!

Hermes festival des Métiers.. took a trip to the expo to see how their luxury products are made, it was so interesting to see the amount of detail, time and craftsmanship that goes in to their creations! Well worth a visit!

Cannes 2013.. always an event to see who wore what, and goy did this year give us some serious dress envy.

Meet Bryony...our gorgeous new girl in the office :). Introduced by our model Jaffy (not just a pretty face). She is currently studying English Literature at Goldsmiths. She Loves Traveling, food and Finding a good Vintage steal! BABE!

A little Q&A with Bryony: 

How would you describe your style? 

More than anything I'd say practical! I don't mean that in a mumsy way - I just really like to feel comfortable in my clothes and my style changes depending on where im going and what i'll be doing. I definitely dress according to my mood. 

What drew you to CAGECITY? 

The bloody gorgeous clothes at first (I love the select brands and the hand-picked vintage goodies) but its also nice to be part of something thats still at its beginning and really seeing it coming together! CAGECITY's "anything goes" attitude towards individual style is great too because too many companies only appeal to certain fashiony types. You know the ones...... 

Who are your style inspirations? 

It could literally be anyone or anything! My friends and family influence me just as much movie stars and models but I guess that comes with living with five girls who swap and share clothes... People on the street, in work, and online also contribute to my idea of "style". 

Favourite CAGECITY piece? 

Right now its got to be the MINKPINK Complete Me Dress but summer is just around the corner and i've got my beady eyes on some Levi shorts and a crop!

Its that time of the year again! Last week the hottest stars gathered in the French Rivier for the annual film festival and MY GOD was the bar set high for style. Pretty florals and girly elegance were showcased by the likes of Nicole Kidman and Carey Mulligan. Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson worked clean lines and monochrome, and elsewhere Cara Delevingne, Cheryl Cole and Lana Del Rey were show-stopping in sexy lace.

HERMES FESTIVAL DES METIERS

So the Hermes Festival Des Metiers exhibition has finally hit London for 1 week only! And after my disappointment of finding out David Bowie at the V&A is completely sold out I knew I just HAD to hit up this exhibition before it disappears to Dusseldorf! 

We decided to go check it out (better than being stuck in the office ay). It was amazing to see the amount of detail that goes into making their luxury products. Watching the way the watches were constructed delicately using a pair of tweezers I couldn't help but think it looked like the worlds most complex game of Operation!LOL The amount of care and attention to detail that goes into hand painting and embroidering the scarfs really helps you justify the luxury price tag and appreciate the amount of time the workers put in to perfecting their craft!

GOTTA LOVE A RETRO JACKET

I love a good Retro jacket, anything colourful and 80's brightens up my otherwise rather black wardrobe! I picked up this one from Rocket Vintage in Brick Lane! My mum took one look at me and asked why I was wearing a shell suit but then again she thinks I look like a member of Bananarama anyway!

LOVE Friday...

This week has been a sick little week for CAGECITY. We've got the ball rolling to get us firming on the map. Had some great meetings and met some lovely potential interns. CAGECITY is soon to blow...can we get a Whoop Whoop! ;) 

One of the great meetings and lovings this week was with Hype on it, a poster distribution company that has worked with some super cool brands, events and festivals. Look out for our poster and leaflets around de cool parts of London town! Send us a pic if you spot them :)

Takin' it Back..Way Back!!

As its Thursday, I thought I'd take it back... wayyy back! 

Being an 80's (just about) baby, I was definitely a 90's kid!! Since the 90's has been well and truly revived in current trends, I felt like returning to the good old days of my childhood and remembering life as a kid!! - Who wants to grow old anyway! 

I had fun scouring the net to find 90's nostalgia, whilst banging some old school classics - yep I really embraced today's post! 

I wasn't looking for 90's fashion - cos we all know and LOVE that!! I was looking for 90's fun, to take me back to 95'/96' when i'd be 'playing out' sucking on my push pop, on my Tamagotchi, sporting some pedal pushers and jellies - oh to be young again!! 

So this is our Throwback Thursday for you, and for all of you who grew up in the 90's - there's No Doubt (no pun intended ;) ) you'll remember all of this! The toys, sweets, TV, clothes and Music!! - The best of our childhood! - The 90's!!
